Mother Who Loved 'Unconditionally' Identified As Pedestrian Killed In Jersey Shore Crash
A Union Beach woman who "lit up every room she entered" was struck by a vehicle and killed near a busy Hazlet intersection, according to a fundraising campaign. Tracey Ryan, 52, was identified as the pedestrian who died in the Route 36 crash, a Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson said on Wednesday, Dec. 11. The collision happened near the intersection with Union Avenue at around 7:49 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9. The woman died near the intersection of Route 36 and Union Avenue, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Authorities have identified the bicyclist who died when an SUV struck him in West Long Branch. John Martin of Long Branch was killed in the crash, a Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office spokesperson said on Tuesday, Dec. 3. He was 55 years old. A taxi driver from Eatontown was found shot dead outside a Hazlet motel, authorities said. Anthony Hill, 42, was found dead on Saturday, Sept. 14, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release on Wednesday, Sept. 18. Officers responded to an emergency medical call in the parking lot of Holly Hill Motel on Route 36 at around 7:18 a.m. Police found Hill with several gunshot wounds on the ground near a dumpster. A Middletown seafood restaurant suffered a "devastating" fire on Memorial Day, less than six months after it opened.
