Caught In The Act: Essex County Burglars Arrested In Bergen County, Cops Say
Three people were arrested after police in Fort Lee interrupted a burglary in progress just after midnight on Monday, July 21, authorities said.
The incident happened around 12:46 a.m. near 206 New York Avenue, Fort Lee Deputy Police Chief Edward Young said in a press release.
Gerardine Paolello, 57, of Belleville; Tamir McFadden-Jordan, 33, of East Orange; and Nylah Walker, 24, of Newark were caught entering a parked vehicle in the area, the deputy chief said. Officers detained all three.

Machete, Drugs, Cash Found On Cedar Grove Driver In Clifton: Cops
A Cedar Grove man was arrested after Clifton police found a machete, drugs packaged for sale, and thousands in cash inside his van, authorities said.
The incident happened around 3:47 a.m. on Friday, July 11, near Central Avenue and Russel Street, according to Clifton Police Lt. Robert Anderson.
Officers Benjamin Bressel and Samantha Beazley were on patrol when they pulled over a 2012 Honda Odyssey for multiple non-moving violations.

A 35-year-old Cliffwood man was sentenced to 50 years in prison on Tuesday, June 10, after being convicted of murdering a Newark man with a machete last year, authorities said.
Terrance Bailey was convicted of murder in the first degree and a weapons charge on Friday, March 21, following a two-week trial, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.

Five Arrested After $7K In Ecstasy, Coke, Heroin, Meth Seized: Essex County Prosecutor
Five people were arrested after multiple raids in Hudson, Essex and Union counties last month uncovered $7,000 in illegal drugs, authorities said.
The raids, which took place Wednesday, Oct. 30 and Thursday, Oct. 31, were the result of a four-month investigation and targeted individuals believed to be involved in the distribution of controlled substances, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II said.
