Deadly Pursuit: Names Of Scooter Rider Killed, Pursuing Officer Released By NJ Attorney General A 26-year-old Elizabeth man has been identified as the scooter rider who died following a pursuit with police in Perth Amboy on Sunday, July 6, authorities said. Joseph Acevedo-Rodriguez, who went by "Tuti" died just four days before his 27th birthday, according to his obituary from the Alvarez Funeral Home in Newark. "Joseph passed away doing what he loved most: riding motorcycles with his friends on the weekends, one of his passions," his obituary reads, making no mention of the police pursuit. Unlicensed Irvington Operator Busted On Stolen Moped, Police Say A 41-year-old Irvington man is facing charges out of Lyndhurst for operating a stolen moped without a license, police said. Lt. Paul Haggerty saw the gas-powered moped operating without a license plate at Riverside and Post Avenues just before 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2, Lyndhurst Police Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said.
