Four middle school students were hospitalized, including one who broke their leg, when a school bus crashed into a tree in Monroe Township, authorities said. Officers responded to the scene on North State Home Road at around 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19, the Monroe Township Police Department. 13 Hurt In Crash Involving Bus Carrying Military Personnel On NJ Turnpike: Report
Thirteen people were hurt in a crash on the NJ Turnpike involving a bus carrying military personnel, 6abc reports. The passenger bus had broke down was heading north and was in the right lane and right shoulder when it was struck by a tractor trailer just before 1 p.m. at milepost 25.6 in Runnemede, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. "There were multiple non-life-threatening injuries of occupants on the bus and the driver of the tractor-trailer," Lebron said. Bicyclist, 35, Critically Injured In Jersey Shore Hit-And-Run: Prosecutors
A woman was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash in Lakewood, authorities said. The 35-year-old bicyclist was struck by a vehicle, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Lakewood police responded to the crash at the intersection of Maplehurst Avenue and Cross Street at around 7:15 p.m. Officers found the victim in the road suffering from serious bodily injuries. Sundown Swimmers At Unguarded NJ Beach Rescued
Three swimmers were rescued while in the water after sunset in Ocean Grove, officials said. Rescuers were called to a swimmer in distress near the pier at the Main Avenue beach at around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, the ANSWER team said in a Facebook post. The report was quickly upgraded to three swimmers in distress. When emergency crews arrived, they saw the three swimmers screaming for help. Air Force Firefighter, RWJ Paramedic Who Died Of Leukemia Saved First Life At 10
Robert J Conklin III, a New Jersey first responder and Air Force veteran, died on Monday, Aug. 12. He was 39 years old. Robert's mother, Arlene Savarese, said that he died of leukemia. Savarese said her son saved his first life at just 10 years old, when he performed the Heimlich maneuver on his aunt. "The rest of the path was set for him," Savarese said. Robert went on to serve as a firefighter in the United States Air Force, helping to evacuate Afghanistan in 2021.
