NJ Murder Suspect Captured In FL After License Plate Alert, Police Say
A man wanted for homicide in Camden County was arrested in central Florida, authorities said. Edwin Facenda Suriel, 46, was taken into custody in Haines City, FL, on Monday, Dec. 9, according to an arrest report from Florida Highway Patrol. Haines City is in Polk County, about an hour southwest of Orlando and roughly 90 minutes northeast of Tampa. A Long Island woman is contesting tickets issued from all over the nation tied to her distinctive "Star Trek" vanity license plates despite not having driven her car in four years, according to a new report. Beda Koorey, a 76-year-old resident of Huntington and a devoted "Star Trek" fan, believes her license plates were cloned, resulting in tickets for violations in locations she never visited, according to CBS News. 500 Tickets Issued, 30 Vehicles Of Toll Violators Impounded In Single Day At NJ Bridge
Police issued 500 summonses and impounded 30 vehicles of persistent toll violators and users of fake or obstructed license plates, officials said. The Oct. 15 operation was a collaboration between the Port Authority of NY/NJ Police, NYPD, and New York State Police, and more, which also netted six arrests.
