A 73-year-old driver from Somerset County died of his injuries on Sunday, July 21 — five days after a single-car crash on Interstate 287 in Middlesex County, authorities said. Bill Schocklin was driving south near milepost 8.8 in Pisscataway at about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16 when his Nissan veered off I-287, struck a guard rail and overturned, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron. Schocklin, of the Somerset section of Franklin, was ejected from the Nissan, Lebron said. He was brought to an area hospital with moderate injuries, he said. Motorcyclist Dies In Crash At Garden State Parkway Exit In Central Jersey
A Camden County man was killed when his motorcycle crashed on the Garden State Parkway, authorities said. Jason Ball, 46, of Stratford, died in the crash in Tinton Falls on Saturday, July 20, according to a state police spokesperson. Troopers responded to the scene near milepost 103 on the southbound side of the parkway at around 9:37 p.m. Investigators said Ball was taking exit 102 when he lost control of his Harley-Davidson. He went off the left side of the road and was ejected from the motorcycle. The crash remains under investigation.

Missing NJ Man Found Dead, State Police Says
A 33-year-old Irvington man who had been missing since mid-June was found dead on Sunday, June 30, authorities said. Isaac Bishop had been missing since Tuesday, June 11, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. At 2:30 p.m. on June 30, the New Jersey State Police Major Crimes South Unit and the Missing Persons Unit responded to a heavily wooded area near 13th Avenue in Weymouth Township and recovered Bishop's body, Marchan said. Five people were injured in a three-car crash on the Garden State Parkway in Central Jersey, authorities said. New Jersey State troopers responded to a crash on Sunday, July 14 at 4:40 p.m. on the parkway southbound at milepost 126.5 in Sayreville, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a State Police spokesman. A total of five passengers sustained minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation and there is no additional information available at this time.

A tractor-trailer became fully engulfed in flames on New Jersey Turnpike in South Brunswick. New Jersey State Troopers responded to the truck fire on Tuesday, July 2 at 12:40 p.m. on the south outer roadway milepost 77.4 in South Brunswick Township, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a State Police spokesman. Upon the trooper’s arrival, the International tractor-trailer was fully engulfed in flames. There were no injuries reported, Lebron said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and there is no additional information available.

A state trooper was accused of trying to pay for sex from someone he believed was a teen girl and asking for sexual pictures, authorities said. Shane Dempsey, 31, of Brick Township, was arrested in Ewing on Monday, July 1, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release.
