A Cape May County charity was rallying to support a Lithuanian college student who was critically injured in a shooting as an innocent bystander in Wildwood. The Lunch With Lynch Foundation created a GoFundMe page for 20-year-old Vilte Gruzdyte after she was shot outside Cattle 'n Clover on Pacific Avenue on Tuesday, July 9. A lucky lottery player won $643,000 on a scratch ticket in Cape May County, officials said. The $1,000,000 Diamond Spectacular ticket was purchased at the Wawa on West Spruce Avenue in North Wildwood, the New Jersey Lottery said in a news release on Monday, July 22. The game has sold three tickets that won $1,000,000 in its history. Those were purchased in Colonia, Elmwood Park, and Springfield. More than seven million tickets have been printed for the game.

Rachel Minaya, who is married to former Mets general manager and current Yankees executive Omar Minaya, was found dead in their New Jersey home over the weekend, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office confirmed on Monday afternoon. Minaya, 55, was found in the bathroom of a Harrington Park home unconscious and unresponsive, bringing local police officers to the scene just after 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Police have identified the 19-year-old swimmer who drowned in a New Jersey lake over the weekend. Daniel Miranda, of San Marcos, Guatemala, was taken to Inspira Hospital in Mullica Hill, where he was pronounced dead, Elk Township police said. Elk Township officers were called to Lake Garrison in Gloucester County for a missing person last seen in the water around 2:10 p.m. Saturday, July 20, Elk Township Police Chief Lance Hitzelberger said. Two people died, and dozens of others sickened in a Listeria outbreak tied to deli meats in several states, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Twenty-eight people across 12 states had been sickened between late May and mid-July, the CDC says. The deaths occurred in New Jersey and Illinois, health officials said.
