The fast-casual chain is adding chipotle honey chicken to its options, the company said in a news release on Thursday, Mar. 6. The new flavor is a bold, smoky, and slightly sweet twist on Chipotle's classic grilled chicken.
Chipotle tested out the honey chicken in Nashville and Sacramento before the limited-time launch across North America and Europe.
"Chipotle honey chicken was our top performing limited-time offer in test markets and we're excited for guests to taste this bold, new protein with their go-to order," said Chris Brandt, Chipotle's chief brand officer. "The delicate balance of heat and a touch of sweet pairs perfectly with our real ingredients prepared fresh every day."
The grilled chicken is seasoned with smoky chipotle peppers and wildflower honey. Chipotle said the most popular items customers added to chipotle honey chicken orders were white rice, black beans, fajita veggies, fresh tomato salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa, sour cream, cheese, and lettuce.
Starting on March 6, Chipotle Rewards members can get early access through the restaurant's app and website. Chipotle honey chicken will be available to all customers in the US, Canada, and the UK on Friday, Mar. 7, with France and Germany joining on Wednesday, Mar. 12.
Chipotle is hoping to capitalize on a rising sweet and spicy trend. The National Restaurant Association named hot honey as one of its top flavors for 2025.
Founded in Denver in 1993, Chipotle had more than 3,700 restaurants worldwide at the end of 2024.
