Man Shot In Newark, Three People Detained: Police
A man was shot in Newark on the evening of Friday, Sept. 13, authorities said. At 7:57 p.m., police responded to the 400 block of South 16th Street on a report of a shooting, and found a man who had been shot, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. A handgun was also recovered at the scene, Fragé said. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition, Fragé said. Three suspects were detained in connection with the investigation, Fragé said.

Shooting Victim, 39, Found Lying Face Down At Paterson Intersection: Police
A 39-year-old man was shot and killed overnight in Paterson, police said. Officers responding to a ShotSpotter activation around 1:35 a.m. found the man with a gunshot wound lying face down at Madison Avenue and 14th Avenue, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi said. Officers attempted to render aid to the victim, but he was pronounced dead on scene. His identity was not released. ? Hit-And-Run Driver Critically Injures 76-Year-Old Kearny Man
Authorities are hoping the public can help them investigate a hit-and-run crash that critically injured a 76-year-old pedestrian in Kearny. They recovered the vehicle believed involved in the crash, which occurred at the intersection of Kearny and Columbia avenues shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday, May 30, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
