Darienne Murray was previously convicted of first degree murder for fatally shooting Melja Oliver, a 37-year-old East Orange resident, outside the supermarket at 533 Martin Luther King Blvd, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens said.
Police found Oliver's body lying on the side of the supermarket after being shot in the head, Stephens said.
Under New Jersey law, Murray is required to serve 56 years and two months before he is eligible for parole.
