Wanted On Warrants: Trio Nabbed With Drugs, Dog In Hasbrouck Heights
A suspicious vehicle call led Hasbrouck Heights police to a drug-carrying, canine-accompanied trio wanted on warrants, authorities said. Officers Christopher Connors and Sgt. Dom D’Amico found the Subaru sedan in a Boulevard parking lot shortly before 6:30 p.m. Sunday, April 21, Lt. John Behr said. Officers Paul Albanese, Michael DeSimone and John Mullins joined them along with Wood-Ridge Officers Mark Torsiello and Devin Ochiuzzo, the lieutenant said. UPDATE: A 21-year-old driver who rolled his Charger on Route 17 in Hasbrouck Heights was hospitalized and given a summons, authorities said. Northbound Route 17 was closed from Moonachie Avenue for about two hours after the Dodge and a BMW M34 collided just south of Franklin Avenue at 10:10 p.m. Thursday, May 18, Police Lt. Driver, 66, Hospitalized In Route 17 Rollover
A 66-year-old driver was hospitalized following a rollover crash on Route 17. The Belleville woman's Hyundai overturned outside the Element New York Wood-Ridge hotel on the highway's southbound side shortly before 9 p.m. Monday, April 10. She was extricated from the vehicle and taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with head and arm injuries, responders said. A report that another occupant was also hospitalized with lesser injuries couldn't immediately be confirmed. Hasbrouck Heights police joined their Wood-Ridge colleagues at the scene.

The Wood-Ridge officers who responded to a call involving unwanted party the night of Nov. 19, 2020 had every right to use force. A 17-year-old Wood-Ridge boy was behind the wheel of a speeding sedan that side-swiped a borough police cruiser and kept going, authorities said Saturday. A North Bergen driver was under the influence when he ran a stop sign and caused a chain-reaction crash that sent chunks of concrete median onto Route 17 in Hasbrouck Heights and six people -- including himself -- to the hospital, authorities said.
