A Garfield school bus aide and a jailed Wallington man awaiting trial on charges of sexually assaulting a pre-teen were charged with contacting the victim. Floridaliz DeJesus, 56, was charged with contempt of a court order after she reached out to the victim on behalf of Pedro Perez, 31, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said Friday. Jersey City Uncle Arrested In Child Abuse Case Involving Cig Lighter, His Own Niece & Nephew
A Jersey City man was charged with child abuse for burning his niece and nephew, ages 6 and 9, with a cigarette lighter, authorities said Tuesday. The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit on Dec. 28 got a tip from the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency alleging two Jersey City children were being abused, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The investigation found that 21-year-old Jaimear Butler had physically abused a 9-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl by intentionally burning their bodies with a cigarette lighter, Suarez said. …

PA Driver Admits Retaliating For NJ Traffic Ticket With Bogus Liens Against 32 Officials
A Pennsylvania man admitted that he filed bogus liens against 32 current or former public officials in New Jersey after he got a traffic ticket in Morris County. Solomon Lightner, 41, of East Stroudsburg, took a deal, pleading guilty to witness tampering in exchange for what will be probation, rather than go to trial. Lightner also terminated the filings, authorities said. A trade instructor at the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility in Hunterdon County was charged with witness tampering in an undisclosed 2018 crime. Devon E. A Dover man was sentenced to a decade in state prison for assaulting a 16-year-old and tampering with a witness, authorities said. Levi Young, 20 -- who previously pled guilty to aggravated assault (strangulation), child endangerment and witness tampering -- was sentenced last Friday in Superior Court, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.
