Busted: Police Nab Pair In String Of Morris County Car Burglaries
Police in Morris County arrested a pair they say carried out a string of early-morning car burglaries.
Thomas Berry, 31, and Samantha Delano, 26, are accused of breaking into cars on Shore Road in Lake Hopatcong and stealing various personal property on Feb. 16 around 6:10 a.m., Jefferson Township Police said.
Berry, of Wharton, and Delano, of Stanhope, were identified by witnesses and taken into custody, where they were charged with burglary and theft, authorities said.
Berry was taken to Morris County Correctional Facility while Delano was released on a summons.

Police in Morris County were skeptical when a man they had just arrested insisted the cocaine, heroin and loaded gun found in his vehicle didn't belong to him — but it turns out, he was telling the truth.
Henry Patterson, 47, made an anonymous call to authorities Oct. 4 stating that he saw a man with a handgun and narcotics in the parking lot of ShopRite on East Hanover Avenue, Chief of Hanover Police Mark D. Roddy said.
Officers responded and observed a quantity of cocaine outside the vehicle, authorities said.

A chiropractor from Morris County went on a strong-arm robbery spree through Garfield, Lyndhurst, Wood-Ridge, Paterson, Parsippany and Wharton, said authorities who identified and captured him.
Erick Macias, 35, remained held Thursday in the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing this coming Monday in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
Detectives took Macias into custody at his East Dewey Avenue apartment in Wharton on Tuesday, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.

Kinnelon Motorcyclist, 47, Dies In Sussex County Crash
A 47-year-old motorcyclist from Kinnelon died in a head-on Sussex County crash with a pick-up, authorities said.
Christopher Evans was heading northbound on County Route 515 when his 1972 Triumph motorcycle crossed over the double yellow lines into oncoming traffic last Tuesday, June 30, Hardyston Lt. Robert Zicarelli told the NJHerald.
Evans collided head-on with a 2009 Dodge Ram, operated by a 36-year-old Wharton man, Zicarelli said. Evans was pronounced dead at the scene.
Evans, a Michigan native, was being remembered as loving and devoted dad to his son, Tyler.
