Ticketed Driver Dumps Full Soda Cup Into Ridgewood Parking Agent's Car, Flees, But Guess What?
A motorist who found a ticket on his illegally parked vehicle in Ridgewood dumped a full cup of soda through the open driver's side window of a nearby parking agent's vehicle on Friday. A village police officer and patrol supervisor quickly responded to the scene of the Aug. 18 afternoon incident on Chestnut Street near East Ridgewood Avenue. The vandal had driven off, but police now have what looks to be legitimate vehicle information. Charges are expected shortly. Boyd A. Loving took the photo and wrote most of this story.

Power Knocked Out, Road Temporarily Closed When Contractor's Truck Downs Pole In Ridgewood
A home contractor's truck toppled a utility pole, knocking out power to some customers and temporarily closing busy East Ridgewood Avenue between North Maple Avenue and North Irving Street. The Home Improvements driver out of Park Ridge escaped serious injury when the pole fell on East Ridgewood Avenue around 10 a.m. Monday, July 24. It strewed wires across the roadway and leaked oil from a transformer. Fortunately, the driver wasn't injured.Boyd A. Vehicles Towed In Multi-Vehicle Crash In Ridgewood
A vehicle barreled across a Ridgewood lawn and hit a house in a multi-vehicle collision Thursday. No one required medical treatment following the crash on Northern Parkway between Van Buren Avenue and Racetrack Road around 3:30 p.m. A Toyota Camry was parked in the driveway when it was struck by a Scion xB that also took down a basketball hoop after hitting a Chevy Equinox. Car Rolls, Topples Utility Pole On Route 17
A car careened off Route 17, rolled and toppled a utility pole Monday night. No serious injuries were reported in the crash on the southbound highway near Franklin Turnpike in Ridgewood around 7:30 p.m. Ridgewood firefighters freed an occupant from the vehicle, which landed on its side on the shoulder.
