Woman Airlifted In Route 80 Crash: Njsp
A woman had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital after a crash on Route 80, the early morning of Monday, Oct. 28, state police said.
At 2:56 a.m., a Madza SUV was traveling westbound on Route 80 in Rockaway Township when it entered the right shoulder and crashed into the back of an unoccupied truck, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.
The driver, a 28-year-old Kenvil woman, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to an area hospital, Lebron said.
The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

A 25-year-old Jersey Shore driver died in a Morris County crash Saturday, authorities said.
Stephanie Santora, of Jackson, was behind the wheel of an unknown vehicle that was struck by a truck pulling a utility trailer east in the left lane of Route 24 near mile post 5.7 at 12:22 p.m., NJSP Sgt. Alejandro Goez said.
The impact of the crash sent Santora's car into a Toyota RAV4, which then struck a Jeep Cherokee, Goez said.
Santora's car went up in flames and she was pronounced dead, while her 26-year-old male passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
