A Pennsylvania pool shop owner was slapped with dozens of charges Tuesday after an investigation found that he had spent years scamming at least 26 customers out of thousands of dollars, the district attorney announced. Roger Kornfeind, of Bethlehem, faces 26 counts each of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, as well as 23 counts of home improvement fraud, Northampton County District Attorney Terence Houck said. Authorities on Tuesday arrested a 27-year-old Pennsylvania man in the Holland Tunnel after he kidnapped a woman driving on a local street, authorities said. Ruben Carrion Melendez opened the driver's side door of Krystal River's white Nissan and forced her over to the passenger's seat around 7:20 a.m. Tuesday, near Commerce Center Boulevard in Northampton, Northampton County District Attorney Terence Houck said. Support is surging for the family of 20-year-old football player Elijah Johnathan Johnson, who was shot and killed Sunday at Target in Northampton County. Johnson, of Monroe County, was shot and killed during an argument in the parking lot of Target in the Lower Nazareth Commons shopping center on Dryland Way around 2:15 p.m., Northampton County District Attorney Terence Houck said.
