The victim was hit near South and Pine streets shortly before 10:40 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, according to initial and unconfirmed reports. An advanced life support ambulance responded to rush the victim to a nearby hospital, the report says. The Major Crimes unit was also called to the accident scene. Many municipalities across New Jersey began shutting down local roads to help create space for restaurants to accommodate diners outdoors, once they are allowed to reopen June 15 after the COVID-19 pandemic.
