One person was airlifted to a trauma center as crews doused a fully-involved house fire in Hunterdon County on Thursday, Nov. 17. (Scroll for photos). Firefighters Battle Smoky Attic Blaze In Hunterdon County
Firefighters made quick work of an attic that went up in flames in Hunterdon County over the weekend. The Lebanon Township Fire Department responded to the blaze at a home on Silker Road around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, the squad said. Upon arrival, the department confirmed a fire in the attic and had to open up the roof to gain access. A Hunterdon County development was evacuated after a natural gas line was struck by construction equipment Tuesday afternoon, authorities said. The Township of Clinton Division of Fire confirmed the struck line behind a multi-family home on Greenbriar Lane in the Beaver Brook development just before 12:45 p.m., the department said. Additional crews arrived at the scene to place lines in service until utilities were shut off, authorities said. A car barreled into a Hunterdon County home over the weekend, authorities said. The crash occurred outside a home in Alexandria Township shortly before 3:50 p.m. Saturday, according to the Hunterdon County Technical Rescue Task Force. The crash destroyed a column between the home’s garage doors, which then had to be stabilized before the vehicle could be safely pushed back into the driveway, the task force said. A deer that had gotten trapped on a section of ice was rescued from a Hunterdon County reservoir Thursday afternoon, authorities shared in a touching series of photos. The deer was found stranded on the ice near the swimming area at Round Valley Reservoir in Clinton Township, according to South Branch Emergency Services, which was called to the rescue scene by NJ Park Police. A Hunterdon County student and staff members were rescued Thursday morning after getting trapped at the bottom of a steep and muddy hill, police said. Officers responding to a report of a technical issue at North Hunterdon High School found the student and staff member trapped at the bottom of a hill on school grounds around 8 a.m., Clinton Township Police said in a release. Trenton Man Hospitalized After Getting Trapped Under Lawn Mower In Hunterdon County
A Trenton man was hospitalized after getting trapped under an overturned lawn mower in Hunterdon County Wednesday morning. The victim was mowing the lawn at a home on Smoke Rise Lane in Clinton when he slid down a hill, causing the mower to slide off the property and overturn around 11 a.m., Clinton Township Police said. The victim was ejected from the mower, which then landed on top of him and partially submerged him into the mud, police said. The man was freed with help from South Branch Emergency Services and taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.
