At 3:42 a.m., a crash occurred between a Mercedes-Benz and a Peterbilt tractor trailer on Route 78 west in Bethlehem Township, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The Freightliner and Toyota passenger car were heading east when the tractor trailer struck the back of the Toyota and overturned near milepost 47.4 at 5 a.m., New Jersey State Police said. At 10:39 p.m. the Whitehouse Fire Company and Oldwick Fire Company responded to Route 78 eastbound by exit 78 for a tractor trailer fire, the Whitehouse Fire Company said on Facebook. Whitehouse Fire Company Firefighters used multiple lines to attack the blaze and were able to declare the fire under control before midnight, firefighters said.

Alejandro Reyes-Moya, 52, was driving a Honda CRV on the eastbound side near milepost 4.2 in Greenwich Township when he struck the back of a Freightliner pulling a utility trailer that was parked on the right shoulder around 4:15 a.m., Sgt.
