An intoxicated van driver who led Wayne police on a wild chase following the recent rainstorm claimed to be in Kinnelon when they reached him on his cellphone when he was actually trying to flee on foot through the floodwaters, authorities said. Fleeing Driver Returns After Slamming Into Pole, Rolling SUV In Bergenfield
An unlicensed 28-year-old driver from Bergenfield who knocked down a pole and rolled his SUV while making an illegal turn at high speed before dawn Tuesday fled the scene and then returned, authorities said. Christian Pilamunga Pilco was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center by members of the Bergenfield Volunteer Ambulance Corps following the 3 a.m. Dec. 27 crash outside the Walgreens on South Washington Avenue, Bergenfield Police Chief Mustafa Rabboh said. A 20-year-old New Jersey man was clocked at 120 miles per hour on a Connecticut roadway, police said. Ethan Steier, of Warren (Somerset County), was in a green BMW when police spotted him near Exit 2 on Route 8 south, around 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 26 in Bridgeport, CT, state police said. Intoxicated Driver Caused Head-On Crash With Tractor Trailer On Route 206: Police
A 33-year-old Somerset man was arrested and charged after he crashed into a truck while intoxicated on Wednesday, Nov. 8, Montgomery Township police said. At 6:15 p.m., police responded to Route 206 and Orchard Road for a report of a crash, officers said. Upon arrival, they found a disabled 2008 Buick Enclave, driven by Keith Tisdale, with heavy front end damage, and a disabling tractor trailer with its hazard lights activated, police said. DWI Motorcyclist Arrested After Crash With Deer In Sussex County: Cops
A DWI motorcyclist was cited after a crash with a deer on Friday, Oct. 13 in Sussex County, authorities said. Adam C. Ralli, 32, of Newton, had struck a deer and appeared to be intoxicated when Byram Township police officers arrived on scene at Roseville Road around 10:45 p.m., Byram police said. Ralli failed several field sobriety tests and was arrested and transported to the station where he consented to and failed two breath tests. Ralli was charged with DWI, careless driving, and reckless driving. He was released pending a court date.

A driver whose sedan slammed into a utility pole on a busy West Milford road was hospitalized and charged with DWI, authorities said. Officers responding to the crash at the corner of Macopin Road and Westbrook Road found a significantly damaged 2011 Volkswagen Jetta on Aug. 25.
