Two Passaic residents and one from Wayne were charged with stabbing one of two city men during what authorities said was a planned attack. Being held in the Passaic County Jail pending initial court appearances this Wednesday in Superior Court in Paterson are Sergio Xochiulacuamatzi, 26, Christian Martinez, 21, both from Passaic, and Richard Arriaga, 25, of Wayne. A 22-year-old Paterson convict paroled from state prison amid last year's COVID pandemic could be facing much more serious time after authorities said he shot an innocent bystander during a robbery earlier this month. Passaic Police Officer Injured In Crash
A Passaic police officer was hospitalized after a crash that toppled a utility pole. "Thankfully it's a one-car accident and the officer is doing well," Deputy Police Chief Jonathan Schaer said after Friday night's crash at Main Avenue and Prospect Street. "We expect his injuries to be minor and that he'll make a full recovery." The busy intersection remained closed while the crash was investigated and repairs were made.
