Bus Transporting Phillipsburg Elementary Students Struck By Vehicle On Route 22 A bus transporting first- and second-graders from the Phillipsburg School District was struck by a vehicle on Route 22 shortly after dismissal on Tuesday, Dec. 12, the superintendent confirmed. The bus was transporting 22 children from Phillipsburg Primary School, which had just dismissed its students, when it was struck by a vehicle on Route 22 eastbound, Superintendent Gregory Troxell told Daily Voice. An estimated 60 firefighters from five of Phillipsburg's six fire companies responded to the two-alarm blaze at the Sitgreaves Street facility around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Phillipsburg Fire Chief Richard Hay said.
