Bus Transporting Phillipsburg Elementary Students Struck By Vehicle On Route 22
A bus transporting first- and second-graders from the Phillipsburg School District was struck by a vehicle on Route 22 shortly after dismissal on Tuesday, Dec. 12, the superintendent confirmed. The bus was transporting 22 children from Phillipsburg Primary School, which had just dismissed its students, when it was struck by a vehicle on Route 22 eastbound, Superintendent Gregory Troxell told Daily Voice. High winds contributed to difficult conditions for Phillipsburg firefighters battling a house blaze Sunday afternoon. Town Council President Randy Piazza Jr. spotted smoke billowing from 63 Heckman St. while driving to an appointment shortly before 12 p.m., he told LehighValleyLive.com. 3 Phillipsburg Firefighters Injured During Two-Alarm Blaze At Pipe Manufacturing Facility
Three firefighters sustained minor injuries in the several hours it took to put out a fire at a pipe manufacturer in Phillipsburg Tuesday evening, authorities said. An estimated 60 firefighters from five of Phillipsburg's six fire companies responded to the two-alarm blaze at the Sitgreaves Street facility around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Phillipsburg Fire Chief Richard Hay said.
