Dangerous Air Quality Levels Reported, New 1,800-Acre Wildfire Burns In West Milford
Three active wildfires in New Jersey are keeping firefighters busy this weekend as the air quality continues to worsen.
The New Jersey Forest Fire Service is working to contain fires in West Milford, Pompton Lakes, and Englewood Cliffs (scroll for details on each one).

Old Tappan Crash Downs Wires, Triggers Airbags, Doesn't Keep Driver From Hotel Job In Rockland
A driver who slammed his SUV into a utility pole in Old Tappan kept going -- with all of his airbags deployed -- all the way to his job at a hotel in Rockland County, authorities said.
Juan Gonzalez, 48, of Hawthorne, drove off after his 2004 Acura MDX hit the pole on Old Tappan Road, downing utility wires, outside an Exxon station near DeWolf Road shortly before 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26.
An alert was immediately broadcast, Old Tappan Police Chief Joseph Tracy said.

Parents' Nightmare: Body Of Missing Son, 21, Found At Foot Of Palisades After They Trace Phone
The parents of a missing 21-year-old Somerset County man tracked his cellphone to the Palisades overlooking the Hudson River, where they found his backpack -- and responders eventually recovered his body, authorities said.
The concerned Franklin Township parents called Palisades Interstate Parkway police on Saturday, Feb. 4, and told them their son had been missing for two days, Lt. Raymond E. Walter said.
"They were able to track their son's cell phone to the area of the cliffs, located just south of Stateline Lookout in Alpine," the lieutenant said.

Man, 92, Presumed Drowned After Leaving Walker, Wallet, Keys, Clothes On Hudson River Pier
A 92-year-old Edgewater man was presumed drowned after a ferry captain found his walker, wallet and other belongings on a Hudson River pier just south of the George Washington Bridge.
The New York Waterway captain summoned borough police after finding the resident’s items, which also included a jacket, gloves, a hat and keys, on the pier at the Edgewater Marina on River Road shortly before 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, Chief Donald Martin said.
