Freezing Rain To Glaze Hunterdon County Roadways With Ice, NWS Says: Here's The Timing
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania as freezing rain is expected to create icy road conditions Friday night, Dec. 27 into Saturday morning, Dec. 28, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. Friday to Saturday. Ice accumulations of up to one-tenth of an inch are anticipated in Sussex, Warren, and Morris counties, in NJ, and Lehigh and Northampton counties, in PA. The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for much of New Jersey and parts of Pennsylvania. The watch is in effect through 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 16 and applies to all of New Jersey. In Pennsylvania, the watch covers Adams, Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Chester, Dauphin, Delaware, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Montgomery, Northampton, Philadelphia, Pike, Schuylkill, Wayne, Wyoming, and York in Pennsylvania. Driver Hurt After Spinning Out In Wild Tractor Trailer Crash On Route 78: State Police
Two people were injured including one seriously after a three-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Wednesday, May 29 on Route 78 in Hunterdon County, authorities said. A tractor-trailer was parked and unoccupied on the right shoulder on Route 78 West in Lebanon when a Subaru driven by a 60-year-old Northampton, PA woman entered the area and struck the left rear of the truck just after 9 a.m., New Jersey State Police said. Threat Of Freezing Rain Prompts Winter Weather Advisory Across Parts Of NJ, PA
The threat of freezing rain and icy roads has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Winter Weather Advisory across portions of North Jersey and the Lehigh Valley. Both Drivers Hospitalized Following Head-On Crash In Northampton County
Both drivers were hospitalized Sunday evening following a head-on crash in Northampton County, authorities said. The crash occurred on Lehigh Drive at Gap View Drive around 5:35 p.m., Lehigh Township Police Chief Scott Fogel said in a release. An eastbound Hyundai Sonata driven by Tanya Piccolo, 33, of Palmerton, collided head-on with a Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Gregory Bredbenner, 61, of Northampton, on Lehigh Drive, Fogel said. Born in Allentown, Brock attended Northampton High School, where he played varsity baseball for three years before graduating in 2001, his obituary says. Brock went on to own his own waterproofing company. He had been working in the business since he was just 14 and had taken incredible pride in his work, his website says. Know him? Police are seeking the public’s help identifying the suspect in an assault that occurred at a Lehigh Valley gun club. The man pictured above is wanted for an assault at Tri-Boro Sportsmen Club in Northampton around 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, local police said in a release. Woman, 80, Dies In Lehigh Valley Crash
An 80-year-old woman died at the hospital following a Wednesday afternoon crash in the Lehigh Valley area, authorities said. Brenda Kohler of Northampton was driving on the 500 block of Cherryville Road in Lehigh Township when she was struck by another vehicle just after 4:30 p.m., according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office. Kohler was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg and pronounced dead around 5:25 p.m., authorities said. An autopsy showed Kohler’s death to be accidental in nature and caused by multiple blunt force injuries from the crash. Kohler was apparently a member …
