Authorities thwarted an early morning burglary at a Morris County power sports store on Friday, Sept. 8, resulting in a slew of charges for nine and preventing nearly half a million dollars in losses. Roxbury Police responded to an unwanted persons report at Ledgewood Power Sports on Rt. 46 east in Ledgewood just after 4:10 a.m., the department said. Officers found nine people in a fenced-in area containing ATVs and UTVs. A Morris County bank was robbed of about $14,000 cash early on Friday, July 7, opening an investigation into the suspect’s identity, authorities said. The robbery occurred at the Fulton Bank on Ledgewood Avenue in Netcong around 10:10 a.m., Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said alongside local officials. Hurt, Stranded Swan Rescued From Lake Musconetcong Dam (

Emergency crews spent hours braving treacherous conditions to rescue a stranded swan that was found hurt and unable to fly on Lake Musconetcong Thursday, authorities said. The bird was found stranded at a dam along the lake "at least 15 or 20 feet out of reach," according to the Netcong Police Department and St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center in Madison. Animal control officers worked for several hours to rescue the swan, which was "in a very difficult location under a bridge on the dam," St. Hubert's said. Police Rescue Man, Unconscious Woman From Smoky Morris County Apartment Blaze
Firefighters in Morris County acted fast when they were called to the scene of a Morris County apartment fire, resulting in the brave rescue of a man and an unconscious woman trapped inside. The fire broke out around 11:20 p.m. Friday at a multi-unit building on Route 46 in Ledgewood, Roxbury Township police said. Upon arriving at the scene, Roxbury Police Sgt. Ken Rocco, Ptl.
