: Charges Upgraded For 34-Year-Old NJ Son After Dad Dies
Charges have been upgraded for a 34-year-old Sussex County man whose father died days after he shot him, authorities said. Donald Simpson, 70 was initially flown to Morristown Medical Center in critical condition after he was shot multiple times by his son, Daniel Simpson, at his home in Wantage on Jan. 22, as previously reported by Daily Voice. Simpson died of his injuries on Wednesday, Jan. 25, Acting Sussex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray said. Her name is Millie, and she's doing just fine. Sparta police officers helped deliver the baby girl on Monday, Jan. 15 on Route 35. Parents Tyler and Stephanie had called police as Stephanie was in active labor on Route 15 south near the Jefferson line just before 9 p.m., officials said. A 67-year-old Florida resident was hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a pickup truck in Hackettstown last week, authorities said. The Wildwood, FL man was crossing the access road near Wendy's on Mountain Avenue when he was struck by a 59-year-old Oxford Township man in a Chevy pickup truck around 4:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, Hackettstown police said. A motorcyclist was airlifted to a nearby hospital after colliding with a dump truck in Hunterdon County Thursday morning, July 20, state police said. Police ID Morris County Man Airlifted After Fall From Ladder
A Lake Hopatcong man was flown to a nearby hospital after falling from a ladder Monday afternoon, authorities said. Emergency crews responding to the fall report at 86 Main St. in Chester found Anthony Litterini, 29, with a head injury shortly after 12:45 p.m., Chief Thomas Williver said in a release. Litterini was flown via Atlantic Health Medevac to Morristown Medical Center for treatment, Williver said. The Chester Volunteer Fire Company also assisted at the scene.

A Sussex County man admitted in federal court that he had an arsenal of guns and ammo, some of which was in his van when it crashed into a tree off Route 80. Authorities who searched the vehicle and Lafayette Township home of Joseph Rubino, 59, after the July 2019 crash in Allamuchy said they also found white supremacist and racially-charged propaganda, along with illegal drugs. A driver was hospitalized after being struck by a train in Morris County Wednesday night, authorities said. The driver was struck by the Montclair Boonton Line train 1085 at Waterloo Valley Road in Mount Olive around 9:15 p.m., an NJ Transit spokesperson told Daily Voice. The train had departed the Hoboken terminal at 7:22 p.m and was scheduled to arrive at Hackettstown at 9:31 p.m, authorities said. The driver was taken to Morristown Medical Center with injuries deemed non-life-threatening, authorities said. The one person onboard the train was uninjured.

A 28-year-old worker was airlifted with serious injuries Wednesday evening after falling approximately 20 feet from the roof of a Long Valley home onto a deck below.
