Morris County Closes Offices After Gas Leak Caused By Earthquake Morris County government offices in Morristown are closed for the remainder of Friday, April 5 following the 4.8 earthquake that shook up New Jersey this morning. The decision to close was made as a result of a gas leak in the Administration/Hall of Records building at 10 Court St., which forced an evacuation, Morris County Government said on Facebook. All essential staff and all emergency response personnel are working, Morris County said.

Raymond Ziesse, who owns Mount Olive Karate Academy in Flanders, had a sexual relationship with the former adult student between May 2018 and August 2018 at the dojo, Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said. Ziesse was indicted in December 2023 and pleaded guilty to criminal sexual contact last month, authorities said.
