Blaze Guts Clifton Homes, Firefighter Injured
Fire gutted two Clifton homes and damaged another, injuring a firefighter and displacing at least nine people, responders said. The injury wasn’t considered life-threatening, they said. The blaze broke out in the basement of an East 2nd Street home around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. It spread to a car in a driveway that exploded, spreading the flames to a second home. A Montclair man caught with a stolen Jaguar resisted arrest and fought police who asked for the keys at a Morris County hotel, authorities said. A report of a stolen 2020 Jaguar led police to a local Marriott hotel on Tuesday, August 4, where a witness told officers that a thin black man had parked a Jaguar in the parking lot and locked it before heading east down Route 10, Hanover police said in a release. A 38-year-old Montclair man was drunk when he swerved to avoid a deer and crashed his pick-up truck into a fire hydrant in Sparta, said authorities who charged him. : Ambulance Collides With SUV In Montclair
An ambulance and SUV collided Monday morning in Montclair, injuring the EMT driving the rig and a patient who was being transported at the time, responders said. The front driver’s side of the Atlantic Mobile Health ambulance took the brunt of the hit and ended up on a lawn at the corner of Grove Street and Bellevue Avenue shortly after 11 a.m. The SUV was totaled, with major damage to the front, as well as the rear passenger side.
