A Trenton man was charged with murder and arson in the Molotov cocktail fire that killed two people on Christmas morning, authorities announced. Ronal Ordonez-Lima, 28, is accused of setting fire to the front porch of 221 Rusling St. in Trenton shortly before 3:30 a.m., Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said Monday. Six occupants were in the home during the fire, which spread to five other houses and several adjacent vehicles, Onofri said. Deadly Crash Shuts Down Route 295 In Mercer County: State Police
A deadly crash shut down Route 295 in Mercer County Tuesday afternoon, state police said. The crash occurred in the southbound lanes near milepost 71.6 in Hopewell Township shortly before 2:20 p.m., NJSP Trooper Brandi Slota told Daily Voice. Life-threatening injuries were reported, Slota said. Two left lanes were closed for the investigation, causing a 10 to 15 minute delay, according to 511NJ.

A man was shot and killed in Trenton over the weekend, authorities said. Officers responding to a Shot Spotter activation on the 400 block of Garfield Avenue found the man with multiple gunshot wounds in the back of a home on Garfield Avenue around 1:40 a.m. Saturday, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office. A driver was thrown from a Jeep and hospitalized following a Wednesday late-night crash on the NJ Turnpike in Mercer County, state police said. The driver lost control and collided with an SUV in the south inner lanes near milepost 57.1 in Hamilton around 12:40 a.m., NJSP Trooper Brandi Slota told DailyVoice.com. A 64-year-old Mercer County man was killed after being struck by a car before dawn Sunday, authorities said. Officers responding to the pedestrian crash on Route 1 North at the Square of West Windsor found the man, of Princeton, unresponsive just after 6:20 a.m., West Windsor Police said. Police in Mercer County have issued an alert for a missing 14-year-old girl. Zahira Navedo was last seen near Country Lane in Ewing on Thursday, Ewing Police said. She was wearing a black and red tie-dye sweatsuit with black and multicolored shoes, according to police. Navedo is known to make frequent trips to Caldwalder Park in Trenton, as well as Berwyn Avenue, Groveland, Keswick and Ardsley Avenues in Ewing, police said.
