A 31-year-old Central Jersey man has been convicted of beating a 50-year-old man while helping him move in 2022. Samuel C. Double Shooting Probed In Somerset County
Two victims were expected to survive after a weekend shooting at a Somerset County home, authorities said. Both male victims were shot at a home on North Weiss Street in Manville around 5 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald said. Small Plane Crash Lands In Somerset County
A small plane crashed outside of a home in Somerset County Monday, April 4. The single-engine Mooney M20M went down in a yard at the corner of Griesheimer and Main streets in Manville around 1 p.m. The crash-landing location is just north of Central Jersey Regional Airport, the FAA said. The number of people on board was not known as of 3:15 p.m. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate. The NTSB will be in charge of the investigation and will provide additional updates.

3 NJ Walmart Stores Close Due To COVID
Three Walmart stores across New Jersey have closed due to COVID-19. The latest store to close was in Manville (Somerset County), which was shut temporarily Sunday for cleaning, NJ Advance Media reports. It was expected to reopen Tuesday, Walmart officials told the outlet. The Linden Supercenter closed last week after an employee tested positive for the virus. DWI Driver Sends Stolen Minivan Into NJ Home On Christmas Eve
A DWI driver crashed a stolen minivan into a New Jersey home on Christmas Eve night, NJ.com reports. Pawel Zawadka, 27, was driving a Honda Odyssey stolen out of Manville earlier when he barreled through a Taylor Avenue home in Hillsborough,the outlet says citing local police. The van landed partially in the living room and in the garage around 8 p.m. Zawadka was found uninjured at the scene, caused damages so significant that the home remained uninhabitable, the report said. Child Porn Gets Manville Man 3-Year Prison Term, Parole Supervision For Life
A Manville man who pleaded guilty to child porn charges was sentenced to three years in state prison with parole supervision for life, authorities said Friday. Brandon Heaton, 23, was arrested in March 2019 following a referral from the Internet Crimes Against Children task force (ICAC) that he was distributing child porn, Acting Prosecutor Michael Williams. Heaton was indicted by a grand jury in June 2019, and pleaded guilty to third-degree possession of child porn, the prosecutor said. He was sentenced on Wednesday by Superior Court judge Angela Borkowski.
