Hundreds Without Power In Hunterdon County
Hundreds of New Jersey residents were without power on Wednesday morning, Dec. 11, JCPL reports. According to the company's outage map, 241 customers were in the dark in Washington Township as gusty winds began to sweep through the region. In Morris Township, 74 customers were in the dark, and 18 had no power in Morristown. The outage map showed 248 customers were without power in Long Valley and Tewksbury as well. Meanwhile, in Woodbridge (Middlesex County), 552 PSE&G customers did not have power as of 9:20 a.m.

DUI, Child Neglect For Minivan Driver After Near Miss With Police Car In Morris County: Cops
A Long Valley man was charged with driving while intoxicated and child neglect after nearly colliding with a police cruiser at the ITC Mall Complex in Flanders last week. The incident occurred on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024, at 12:04 a.m., when Sgt. Tyler Mullooly observed a Honda minivan cross the center line near Famous Footwear, narrowly missing his patrol vehicle, police said. Sgt. Hackettstown Funeral Home Faces Lawsuit Over Man's Damaged Body During Transport
A New Jersey family has filed a lawsuit against a funeral home alleging that their loved one's body had been damaged so badly while in their care that they were unable to hold an open casket service. The lawsuit (attached) was filed by the Fornaro family in Bergen County Superior Court on Thursday, Sept. 5. The suit names the Cochran Funeral Home in Hackettstown along with three of its employees; Bergen Funeral Service along with three of its employees; 10 John Does; and 10 ABC entities. High Winds Wreak Havoc In NJ Leaving Roads Closed, Hundreds Without Power
Wind gusts up to 50 mph were wreaking havoc across New Jersey on Friday, Aug. 9. As of 2:30 p.m., thousands of residents were without power and multiple roadways were closed due to downed wires and related crashes. The initial earthquake had a magnitude of 4.8 and was reported in Whitehouse Station at 10:23 a.m. Friday, April 5. Tremors were felt by more than four million people from Maryland to New Hampshire. A 34-year-old man from Albrightsville, Pa. man was arrested and charged on Thursday, Feb. 15 after he stole $40,000 in jewelry from a house in Morris County, NJ police said. The Long Valley First Aid Squad responded to the crash with EMS and Rescue 1 and 2 in Long Valley during the afternoon on Saturday, Sept. 10. The Long Valley Fire Company No. 1 tended to a fluid spill while EMS crew members treated two patients at the scene and transported them to nearby hospitals, the squad said. A Morris County accountant has been charged after police say he defrauded a victim out of $3,100. The victim told Washington Township Police that the accountant was hired to help the victim file a tax amendment in July 2021, authorities said. The victim gave the accountant the amendment fee of $3,100 but after following up learned that the accountant never filed the amendment and instead pocketed the money, police say. A 59-year-old woman was hospitalized after being hit by a car in Morris County, authorities said. The woman, a Long Valley resident, was hit in the parking lot of the Washington Township Municipal Building on Schooleys Mountain Road just before 9:20 a.m. Friday, police Lt.
