2-Hour Search Leads To Arrests Of TJ Maxx Shoplifters In Morris County, Authorities Say Two shoplifters were arrested on Monday, June 17 after attempting to steal more than $3,500 from a TJ Maxx in Morris County and leading police on a foot pursuit and lengthy search, authorities said. Officers observed Mark Rodriguez, a 36-year-old Clifton resident and Saul Torres, a 68-year-old Passaic resident exiting TJ Maxx in the Valley Mall in Gillette with shopping carts full of stolen items, Long Hill police said. Morris County Strip Mall Hit-Run Sends Pedestrian To Hospital A pedestrian was hospitalized with head and back injuries in a hit-and-run crash at a Morris County strip mall last week, authorities said. The victim was struck by Caprise Keets, 53, of Manville (Somerset County), around at the Valley Mall in Gillette around 10:20 a.m. on Dec. 23, Long Hill police said. The pedestrian was transported to Morristown Hospital by the Long Hill First Aid Squad.  Keets was issued a summons for careless driving with a pending court date in Long Hill Township Court.

Police Seek Men Seen Running From Stolen Mercedes After Morris County Crash Police in Morris County are looking for clues after locating a crashed Mercedes determined to be stolen Monday morning, authorities said. Two Black men wearing all black were seen running from a Mercedes that had been crashed on Mountain Avenue in Long Hill Township Monday morning, local police said. The men then fled in a black Range Rover bearing the NJ registration F43MXA, police said. Both vehicles were found to be reported stolen from Northern NJ, authorities said. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Long Hill Police at 908-647-1800.

Police: Medical Episode Kills Man In Morris County Supermarket Parking Lot A 56-year-old Morris County man was found dead in his car after police said he suffered what they believe was a medical episode Wednesday morning. The Pine Brook man was found unresponsive in his vehicle outside of Kings Supermarket in Gillette around 9:55 a.m., Long Hill Police Lt. James Marczewski said. It was not clear how long the man had been there when police found him. Daily Voice is withholding his identity.
