Police: Passaic Man Stabs Mom With Pocket Knife, Surrenders After Brief Standoff A troubled 35-year-old Passaic man stabbed his mother with a pocket knife and then briefly remained locked in a bathroom before surrendering Monday, authorities said. Devon Rodriguez was taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center for a psychological evaluation pending transfer to the Passaic County Jail following the incident on Linden Street near Broadway, responders said. His mother was treated at St. Mary's General Hospital in Passaic and released with a minor stab wound, they said.
