North Jersey Native Critically Injured Fighting Baltimore Fire Sees Community Support
People are coming together to support Dillion Rinaldo, a lieutenant in the Baltimore City Fire Department and a Fair Lawn native, who was seriously injured battling a three-alarm blaze last week. A fundraiser has been launched for Rinaldo and his fiancée, Lauren. As of Tuesday, Oct. 24, more than $73,000 has been raised. North Jersey Toddler Mauled By Pitbull At Town-Wide Garage Sale: Lawsuit
The family of an 18-month-old boy from North Jersey has filed a lawsuit saying he suffered serious injuries when he was mauled by a pitbull at a town-wide garage sale last year. Samuel Miller Sr. and Roxanne Miller say in court papers that they were at the annual Kinnelon garage sale on Sept. 24, 2022 when a pitbull named Leo violently attacked their son, who was secured in a stroller, according to papers filed in Morris County Superior Court (see lawsuit attached). Injured Man, 69, Found Lying On Somerset County Railroad Tracks: Police
A 69-year-old man was hospitalized after he was found injured on a set of railroad tracks in Somerset County early on Monday, Sept. 11, investigators say. A passerby found the Manville man lying on the tracks near North Street and North 14th Avenue and called police around 7 a.m., Manville Police Officer in Charge Lieutenant Craig Jeremiah said in a release. A crash at a busy Paramus intersection sent an occupant to the hospital with a broken arm and facial injuries, responders said. The woman was in a Honda CRV that broadsided a Tesla at Paramus Road and West Midland Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9. Another occupant and a small dog in the Honda escaped injury. A 20-year-old Rutherford man was rescued from the Palisades after he fell and was injured before dawn on Labor Day, authorities said. The victim called police from the Englewood Cliffs section of the Palisade Interstate Parkway overlooking the Hudson River at 2:12 a.m. Monday, Sept. 4, PIP Police Lt. Raymond Walter said. A Passaic senior citizen was injured when three shoplifting teens knocked her down, said police who captured the trio soon after.
