Rabid Fox Attacks Man’s Bike Tire In Hopatcong
A fox that attacked a man’s bicycle tire in Hopatcong later tested positive for rabies, officials said. The man was riding his bike near Brooklyn Mountain Road and Columbia Trail in Hopatcong when the fox attacked the tire on Sept. 15, according to a Facebook post from the Hopatcong Animal Shelter. The animal tested positive for the rabies virus on Sept. 23, the shelter said. Officials remind residents and pet owners to stay alert at all times when outside with their pets.
