Dump Truck With Trailer Barrels Down Embankment Into Hawthorne Home A dump truck and equipment trailer owned by a Wayne landscaping company barreled down an embankment and crashed into a home in Hawthorne on Monday. The single-axle crew cab truck, owned by Canete Landscaping, was headed down Hillcrest Avenue around 5 p.m. when the driver said the brakes failed, responders said. After hitting a parked SUV, the truck careened down the embankment and into the rear closed-in porch of an Emeline Drive home. No injuries were reported.
