High Winds Wreak Havoc In NJ Leaving Roads Closed, Hundreds Without Power Wind gusts up to 50 mph were wreaking havoc across New Jersey on Friday, Aug. 9. As of 2:30 p.m., thousands of residents were without power and multiple roadways were closed due to downed wires and related crashes. The National Weather Service also issued a new tornado watch across North Jersey. An earlier watch for South Jersey and much of Pennsylvania has been lifted. Warren County Man Charged After Leaving Dog In Hot Car, Police Say A Warren County man was charged after leaving his dog in a hot car, authorities said. The man — whose name was not released — is accused of leaving his dog, “Rosco,” inside his car with no air conditioning and the windows rolled up on an 80-degree day, Washington Township Police said in a release on Tuesday, June 28. The Hardwick man was charged by a Washington Township Humane Law Enforcement Officer and is scheduled to appear in municipal court.

Pilot Escapes Hardwick Crash Landing Without Injury A pilot walked away from a crash landing in Hardwick Tuesday uninjured. The crash occurred on Jones Lane near Stillwater Road around 2:30 p.m., New Jersey State Police said. The pilot tried making an emergency landing in a field when the plane malfunctioned, police said.  The plane had taken off from Blairstown Airport and sustained heavy damage to the wins, State Police said.
