Driver, 33, Charged In Crash That Killed Passaic County Grandmother: Prosecutor
A 33-year-old Clifton man has been charged in the April crash that killed a 58-year-old grandmother from Passaic, authorities announced. Grzegorz Wolak was in a red Ford Explorer when he struck Rachel McNeil on Passaic and Aycrigg avenues around 11:15 p.m. April 10, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Chief of Police Luis A. Guzman said. McNeil died two days later at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center. A Woodstown man reportedly admitted to having about a half-dozen beers before the crash that killed Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, arrest records said. Sean Higgins, 43, was facing several charges including two counts of assault by auto, according to court records. Authorities have released more information about a fatal crash on a busy New York road that left a New Jersey man dead. Peter Leist, 62, of Denville, NJ was heading west on Route 301 in Carmel, NY, when he crossed over the double yellow lines to pass a few vehicles and collided head-on with a small bus, around 2:10 p.m. Friday, May 31, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said. An Absecon officer saw the vehicle on fire off Route 30 near Delilah Road just before 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Apr. 28, the police department said in a news release. Woman Dies In Fiery Crash On NJ Turnpike
Authorities have identified the driver who died in a fiery crash just off the New Jersey Turnpike Wednesday, March 16. Yvena Louis, 36, of Bayonne, was heading east on the Hudson Bay extension in Jersey City when her Nissan Quest went off the roadway near milepost 5.5, New Jersey State Police spokeswoman Brandi Slota said The car then struck a tree and went up in flames around 12:50 p.m. Louis was pronounced dead at the scene.
