A Maywood police officer nabbed a wanted couple in a stolen minivan after they pulled into the parking lot of a closed car wash, authorities said. The Pontiac minivan had only just been reported stolen out of Paterson when Officer Alana Luna spotted it on Essex Street, Detective Sgt. William Phayre said. The driver – Chante S. A 33-year-old Rutherford man wanted on burglary and robbery charges tried giving a Wayne police officer who stopped him a green card belonging to an elderly man from Haiti as identification, authorities said. Joshua Ellerbee then showed Officer Harrison Kirby a Social Security card with the other man’s name on it, Detective Capt. Dan Daly said. Authorities in Montgomery County are seeking a 29-year-old former convict who they say provided a bogus ID to try to buy a firearm last year in Philadelphia. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Eddie Maurice Grant, who attempted to purchase the weapon from the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks on Dec. 21, 2019, Upper Providence Township police said in a news release.
