Elderly Man Struck Dead Near Ewing Intersection
An elderly man died after being struck by a vehicle near an intersection in Ewing Wednesday evening, authorities confirmed. The man was struck near the intersection of Pennington Road and Somerset Street shortly before 5:50 p.m., Ewing Police said in a press release. He was rushed to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. His identity was not released. : Skateboarder Arrested After Knocking Elderly Victim Unconscious In Newark
UPDATE: The alleged suspect has been arrested. ***Original story below*** Police are seeking the identity of a skateboarder who they say assaulted an elderly man on Friday, Feb. 11 in Newark. The victim was walking when he was knocked unconscious by a suspect riding a skateboard on Ferry Street near Merchant Street around 10 a.m., Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara said. River Vale Man, 79, Hospitalized With Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound
A 79-year-old River Vale man was hospitalized after shooting himself on Thursday, authorities said. He was reported in stable condition at Hackensack University Medical Center following the noontime incident on Central Avenue. Police were trying to determine whether the gunshot wound was accidental or self-inflicted.

Elderly Worker Airlifted With Serious Injuries After Tractor Pushes Him Into Barn Door
An elderly man working on a tractor in Hunterdon County was airlifted with serious injuries Tuesday afternoon when the machine started up and pushed him into a barn door that then fell on top of him, authorities said. The incident occurred on Croton Road in Franklin Township around 2:45 p.m., Township Sgt. Kevin Bollaro told Daily Voice. The man was taken via helicopter to the closest trauma center as a result of his injuries.
