Teen Driver Airlifted, Pedestrian Hospitalized In Sussex County Crash
A 43-year-old pedestrian suffered moderate injuries while a 17-year-old driver suffered serious injuries in a crash on Route 15 in Lafayette just before midnight on Thursday, July 3, authorities said. The teen driver from Sparta was heading south on Route 15 near milepost 17.2 in a BMW when he veered off the right side of the roadway and struck a 43-year-old woman from Lafayette, NJSP Sgt. Sedan Slams Into Route 46 Gas Pump, Bursts Into Flames
A driver escaped serious injury after his sedan plowed into a pump and burst into flames at a Route 46 gas station. The 32-year-old driver from Englewood lost control of the two-door Infiniti, which crashed at the QuickCheck on the westbound highway -- near the entrances to Route 80 and the New Jersey Turnpike -- at 7:40 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, Ridgefield Fire Chief David Brierty said. A driver who stuck to the GPS instructions got stuck on the railroad tracks in Ho-Ho-Kus, leading to delays Monday night of nearly an hour. A driver was rescued and rushed to a nearby trauma center after a vehicle plunged down a steep embankment and landed in a pond in Hunterdon County, authorities said. The Flemington-Raritan First Aid and Rescue Squad responded to the crash near Route 202 and Colony Road in Raritan Township just after 8:35 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, the department said. A driver told police he had "mechanical issues" that sent his recycling truck veered off the road and into a tree in Hawthorne on Tuesday. Goffle Hill Road off Grandview Avenue was temporarily closed while Citywide Towing used a heavy wrecker to remove the 2003 B&B Disposal dump truck, which crashed on a short embankment in front of a home shortly after 10 a.m. There was no immediate word on the driver's injuries.
