17 Firearms, High-Capacity Mags Seized In Raid Of Morris County Man's Home: Prosecutor
A 54-year-old Denville man was arrested and charged on Tuesday, Feb. 6 with possessing and selling defaced firearms, authorities said.
Robert Klaar sold the defaced gun in Denville in January 2024, Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally and Denville Chief of Police Frank Perna said.

James Halbig, a Sandyston Township resident, died on Sunday, Feb. 4, at Morristown Medical Center, according to his obituary.
Born in Dover, Halbig grew up in Denville and graduated Morris Knolls High School, his obituary reads. He joined the United States Army, serving multiple tours in Germany and the Middle East, including Desert Storm, according to his obituary. A 27-year-old Morristown man was arrested after he led police on a high-speed pursuit through Denville on the early morning of Thursday, Jan. 25.
At 1:24 a.m., Denville police observed a black Hyundai Tucson, driven by Anthony Granados, make an abrupt lane change while driving eastbound on Route 10, officers said.

A 23-year-old Queens man was arrested by Denville police on Tuesday, Nov. 28 after escaping officers back in September, authorities said.
Elijah Cowan, 23 and Aziz James, a 24-year-old Queens resident, were among three people stealing from the local CVS on Sunday, Sept. 17, police in Denville said.
Cowan and another man escaped in a Jeep Wrangler, officers said. Police tried to stop the car, but terminated the pursuit due to possible dangers to the public and Cowan's reckless driving, officers said.
