Coming Of Age YouTube Video With 7.3M Views Filmed In NJ Will Become Hollywood Film
A young director's short film on YouTube with more than 7.3 million views that was filmed across New Jersey will soon be made into a major motion picture. According to Deadline, TriStar Pictures — a division of Sony Pictures Entertainment — purchased the rights to Wesley Wang's "nothing, except everything" following a bidding war. It will be produced by Darren Aronofsky and his company, Protozoa Pictures. Stephen Colbert will be sitting down with Martin Scorsese later this month at NJPAC in an evening that will benefit the Montclair Film Festival. Scorsese, an Academy Award winner, is being honored at this year's event, which runs Oct. 20 to 29. Colbert, an Upper Montclair resident, will be sitting down with Scorsese at NJPAC in Newark, on Oct. 27, and ticket sales will benefit the MFF. Trailer Drops For 'Oppenheimer' Movie Filmed In NJ
The trailer has dropped for the star-studded Universal Pictures movie filmed in New Jersey about atomic bomb creator J. Robert Oppenheimer (scroll for video). The Christopher Nolan film titled simply "Oppenheimer" stars Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr. and Matt Damon. The movie was filmed in New Mexico and Princeton, NJ, and is expected to hit theaters July 2023. NJ Birthplace Of Moving Motion Picture Now Has Museum, Screening Facility
Hollywood isn't where the motion picture industry got its start — that would be Fort Lee. And the borough finally has the Barrymore Film Center & Museum to honor that. The newly-built facility will open Friday, Oct. 21, marking the beginning of unique film programming in the region. It features a 260-seat cinema, film museum and archive — dedicated to the role Fort Lee played as the birthplace of the film industry.
