A man was fatally struck by a vehicle on Route 23 on Monday evening, Feb. 26, authorities said. The fatal crash occurred on Route 23 North and Center Court in Butler, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. Police have issued a warning to Morris County residents after a dog was attacked by a bear in a local backyard. Officers were called to a home on Scott Street in Butler the day after the Saturday, August 20 attack, police said. A 74-year-old man was airlifted to a hospital with severe burns sustained in the Myrtle Avenue blaze, which broke out shortly before 5 p.m., responders said.
