Infant Seriously Hurt, 3 Young Children Injured As Driver Hits Tree Off Rt. 80 (Update)
Three young children were hurt and an infant suffered serious injuries as a driver veered off Route 80 and struck a tree on Wednesday, June 28, state police said.
Adriana Padilla-Caban, 23, was behind the wheel of a Kia SUV when she veered to the left and hit a tree on the westbound side near milepost 19.2 in Allamuchy around 10:40 a.m., NJSP Trooper Charles Marchan told Daily Voice.
Padilla-Caban, of Scranton, PA, as well as a 4-, 3-, and 1-year-old suffered “moderate” injuries, Marchan said. Meanwhile, a 3-month-old was seriously injured.

A DUI Sussex County man was charged in a head-on wrong-way crash on Route 80 that sent another driver to the hospital, state police said.
Daniel Williams, 24 of Wantage, was heading eastbound when he struck another car head-on while driving the wrong way near milepost 16.6 in Allamuchy just after 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18, NJSP Brandi Slota told DailyVoice.com.
The victim, a 61-year-old man from Bushkill, New York, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Slota said.
Williams was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence, authorities said.

A mason dump truck drove over a propane tank in Sussex County, causing a massive leak that took hours to repair and required an evacuation of the area, authorities said.
Fire departments in Stillwater, Fredon, and Hampton responded to the Bear Brook community in Fredon alongside numerous local emergency crews around 11 a.m. on Sunday, May 29, authorities said.

A Pennsylvania driver fled the scene of a single-car crash along I-80 in New Jersey and led police on a chase, authorities said.
Matthew Farrance, 32, fled after crashing in the westbound lanes at milepost 22.6 in Allamuchy (Warren County), NJ State Police said.
Troopers caught up with the driver near Johnsonburg Road, where they spotted him running, they said.

Authorities: Ring Got 30,000 Painkiller Pills With Prescription Blanks Swiped From NJ Hospitals
Using prescription blanks stolen from hospitals in Bergen and Passaic counties, a crew used a single pharmacy to get its hands on 30,000 high-dose oxycodone pills, including a year’s worth of painkillers prescribed to a dead man, authorities charged.
