Pedestrian Struck At Busy Intersection Outside Hackensack Park
A 23-year-old pedestrian was struck and injured in a busy Hackensack intersection, authorities said. An Advanced Life Support ambulance was summoned after he was struck by an Acura outside Johnson Park on River and East Anderson streets around 10:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9. The Bergen County Prosecutor's Fatal Accident Investigations Unit was also notified. The victim was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with head trauma. His injuries were later downgraded to non-life-threatening, responders said. Reports that an NJ TRANSIT bus was involved were wrong, authorities said.

A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed after being struck by a van last week, after passing drivers moved his body to the side of Route 7, authorities said. A man apparently admiring the view from atop the cliffs near the George Washington Bridge survived a fall of nearly 60 feet, authorities said after he was rescued by rappellers. Parachuter Flown To Hospital Following Sussex County Skydiving Accident, State Police Say
A parachuter was flown to the hospital following a skydiving accident in Sussex County, state police said. The parachuter got stuck in power lines at the Sussex Airport in Wantage around 9:35 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, NJSP Trooper Charles Marchan told DailyVoice.com. Troopers rescue the parachuter from the power lines as a medical helicopter landed near the scene to assist with transportation. The parachuter was then flown to a nearby hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries, Marchan said. Additional details were not released.

A man who suffered serious injuries after falling from a hotel balcony on Long Island earlier this week has been identified as a US Coast Guardsman. Alexander “AJ” Keating, 24, who has been living in South Amboy, was on a ninth-floor balcony at around 12:45 a.m. when he fell over a railing at the Hyatt Regency Long Island, Suffolk County police said. A driver was killed when a tire from a pickup truck blew out on I-95 in Philadelphia early Friday, and smashed into his windshield, 6abc reports. Snapple helped police find a driver who they said took off after his truck struck a small shopping strip in Glen Rock. Sgt.
