Storm Leaves More Than 2,000 Customers Without Power In Northwest Jersey

The rainstorm on Wednesday, April 3, has left more than 2,000 homes without power according to Jersey Central Power & Light.

More than 1,000 customers are without power in Morris County, while Hunterdon County saw 701 outages. Sussex County saw 206 outages while Somerset County had 31 homes without power and Warren County reported eight homes not having electricity, Jersey Central Power & Light.

Police in Chatham Borough said a tree fell on power lines on Jackson Avenue while Washington Township Police in Morris County said more than 540 customers were without power.

In Chester Township, Route 24 between the Old Mill Tavern and State Park Road is closed due to wires arcing above the roadway, police said. Jersey Central Power & Light is making repairs, police said.
