Onika Johnson was charged with arson on Thursday, Feb. 29 after originally being charged last August with attempted murder, aggravated arson and criminal mischief, Hunterdon County First Assistant Prosecutor Joseph Paravecchia said.

On Sunday, May 21, 2023, Johnson intentionally started a fire in the garage at 8 Whitetail Way in Ringoes while the residence was occupied by several family members and tenants, authorities said. The home suffered significant structural damage and the occupants could have died, authorities said.

Johnson is currently being held at the Warren County Correctional Center, authorities said.
