Man Dies After Falling Into Water Near Route 35 Bridge: Belmar PD A person was pronounced dead after they fell into the water near the Highway 35 Bridge in Monmouth County on Thursday, Feb. 27, authorities said. At 9 p.m., officers  received a report of a subject in the water near the Highway 35 bridge, Belmar police said. Upon arrival, patrol officers immediately began searching the area under the bridge on the north side of the Belmar Marina, police said. DWI Driver Traveled Down Boardwalk On Jersey Shore After Crashing Into Vehicle, Police Say An Avon-by-the-Sea man was accused of driving while intoxicated when he crashed into a vehicle and drove onto the Belmar boardwalk, authorities said. Jason Nagy, 44, was arrested on Thursday, July 11, the Belmar Police Department said in a news release. Officers responded to a crash near the intersection of Second and Ocean avenues at around 9:16 a.m. Investigators said Nagy was driving north in the southbound lane on Ocean Avenue when he crashed into another vehicle.
