On June 3, 2022, police in East Orange responded to the ShopRite supermarket on Main Street and found the body of Melja Oliver lying on the side of the building, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II said. The woman suffered a broken eye socket and a brain bleed and was hospitalized for several days, Stephens said.
